cosplay making a predator movie costume part 2

so here is part 2 of my mission to make a predator movie costume
I started sculpting out of clay onto a dummy my leg skin I decided to keep the crotch plate separate and the shins for easier reasons ;)

and it turned out not 100% like I wanted it to but wearable I have to make modifications to them and I'll post more info soon

so I decided it would be quicker to make the suit if I sourced some parts from people who already make them like small parts that will definitely fit me and wont have problems with size so I found on the website hunters lair a guy who makes movie accurate gauntlets so I bought em now these are latex bottoms foam filled with a resin tops unpainted
ok so it was time for painting my most fav part of making the costume here's some pics I painted them with acrylic black and acrylic silver that I bought from spotlight so not that expensive

cosplay making a predator movie costume part 1

Hey everyone thought I would post this its my progress so far on a costume I have been working on since last year in april here in australia we have a comic book convention called supanova its held in sydney,brisbane,melbourne,perth, supanova linkwell after I attended this event last year in brisbane I dressed as eric draven from the crow,I knew I had a dream to make a big sci-fi monster cosplay and who is the most epic bad ass of them all predator from the movie predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger GET TO DA CHOPPER,well I was on the path to make myself an outfit well after numerous searches online I found a whole community of people around the world dedicated to dressing as all the movies of predator AVP,AVP2,Predator,Predator 2,even fan film batman dead end well this place of wonder is called the hunters lair the hunters lair link I was amazed at how much knowledge I could get from this place thank god for the net XD well on to my progress,first I bought a dummy from a store than sculpted clay on it making the upper chest and arms,info:the clay is called klean klay it is an oil based clay so it is reusable and cheaper than water based clay
then I had to make a mold of the skin I had decided to keep the arms separate and re attach them after wards,info:the mold material is called ultracal 30 its a gypsum cement its like plaster but much harder

then I poured the latex into the mold and SUCCESS my latex turned out of my upper torso

sucker punch 2011 trailer

Hey all roy_draven here with my second blog post :D
and have I got some news for you guys and gals,who ever hasn't heard
of sucker punch it is a new film by Zack snyder director of dawn of the dead remake (2004) 300 (2006)and last years watchmen he has a familiar style of action violence and of course comics now sucker punch stars Vanessa Hudgens,Jamie Chung,and aussie Abbie Cornish and another aussie Emily Browning, now the story is about little girl who is trying to hide from the pain caused by her evil stepfather and lobotomy. She ends up in mental institution and while there she starts to imagine alternative reality. She plans to escape from that imaginary world but to do that she needs to steal five objects before she is caught by a vile man. Story is set in 1950's.There was a press conference held just recently at this years comic con releasing mini posters all of them looking just spectacular sucker punch posters link now they have released a trailer my eyes are blind with excitement it looks just awesome my fav thing of the trailer is the use of the 50's with samurais and japan its brilliant this film will be like a modern age alice in wonderland with guns and swords I cannot wait for this film I have personally loved all of zack's movies it will be a blockbuster and a cult movie in its own right heres the trailer if you were brave enough to read all of my typing muhahahahahahahaha.
